Hamilton city leaders now plan on asking for help paying for all of the expenses of the last month’s blackout. The Current City council members now plan to vote on a resolution declaring the city a natural disaster area following the June 25th storm. This declaration would possibly make Hamilton eligible for a lot of relief. The city manager of Hamilton now tells our affiliates that temporary estimates put the cost to the city of Hamilton, OH from the storm at about $210,000, most of this coming over a short period of time. Electric crews, firefighters, and other city employees worked long hours to try to restore power.
